Inward Delegations
Two key objectives of TVET UK are to:
- raise the profile of the UK TVET sector among international governments and national agencies charged with developing and implementing TVET systems and policy.
- provide opportunies for TVET UK members to make contact with key decision makers from markets around the world.
To achieve this, TVET UK is well positioned to draw on the extensive network of UKTI Commercial Officers based in British Embassies and High Commissions around the world who are in frequent contact with senior officials in ministry departments, national agencies and the private and public TVET sector.
TVET UK will be hosting a number of inward delegations during 2008 that will give TVET UK members the opportunity to understand the challenges facing different markets and to:
- meet and host senior officials and decision makers from overseas governments
- obtain primary information on various initiatives, projects and programmes
- ascertain funding streams and funding levels
- determine whether their products or services are applicable to a market
- raise cultural awareness
A number of inward delegations are planned for 2008, including those from the Services SSETA in South Africa, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Bulgaria and the Teraggannu Skills Development Centre in Malaysia.
